Dorian Beaulieu is the Ceramics instructor at Lake Superior College, Duluth, Minnesota. He received his Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from the University of Minnesota , Duluth and Master of Arts degree in ceramics at the University of Wisconsin, Superior. He has been an arts educator for over 30 years and producing creative ceramic vessels for over 40 years. In 1996 Dorian received the Lake Superior College Teacher of the Year Award in 2001 he received the prestigious Maddie Simons Advocate Award for excellence in teaching and in 2009 he received the MnSCU Board OF Trustees Outstanding Educator of the year award.
Dorian’s recent works have been inspired from the work of Joan Miro and his four recent trips to Foshan and Guangzhou, China where he participated in the Foshan World Ceramics Conference -2002, the Shiwan Traditional Pottery Art Festival -2003 and as a ceramics teacher/lecturer at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art -2006.
